Author & Adventure Travel Company Team up to Lead Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands Multi-sport Tour
January 10 2004--Peter D. Krahenbuhl, author of Adventure Guide to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands (Hunter Publishing, 2003) is teaming up with The World Outdoors to offer a multi-sport tour to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. The trip combines hiking, biking, horseback riding and cultural visits in the Andes with a first class cruise in the Galapagos Islands for hiking, sea kayaking, snorkeling and possibly the best wildlife viewing you'll ever see. The tour, a land and sea program named Ecuador and Galapagos Islands Multi-sport, will run from May 3-15, 2004 and from December 20, 2004 – January 1, 2005.
The Galapagos Islands, known as the Enchanted Isles, have lured adventure travelers since the days of Charles Darwin. Guests will experience exotic creatures, including everything from Darwin's Finches and Galapagos Penguins, to Giant Tortoises and Hammerhead Sharks. And they'll do it on foot and by boat, with optional sea kayaking and snorkeling. In the Andes, they'll visit native markets and villages, bike around emerald crater lakes, and hike the renowned Cotopaxi Volcano. In addition, guests can bike and ride horseback from the Colonial Haciendas they will call home during this phenomenal trip.
This unique tour also combines the knowledge and expertise of a published adventure travel and ecotourism author with the experience of one of the industry's leading adventure travel companies. Krahenbuhl will accompany at least one of the two departures, though all guests on both departures will receive a complimentary copy of the travel guide to enhance their experience.
The price of the Ecuador and Galapagos Islands Multi-sport tour is $2995 per person, and includes double occupancy accommodations, all internal air, land and water transportation including the Quito-Galapagos flight, meals, guides' services as specified, mainland park entrance fees, and all taxes on meals and lodging.
